Day 1
Cairo to Luxor & East Bank
1. Flight from Cairo to Luxor Your Egypt Experiences representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza and transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor, your private guide will meet you at the airport and accompany you throughout your trip. 2. Karnak Temple Begin your Luxor experience with a visit to the spectacular Karnak Temple Complex. Explore the enormous temple complex, including the Great Hypostyle Hall, massive columns, obelisks and sacred areas dedicated to the gods of ancient Egypt. Your Egyptologist guide will explain the history and stories behind the monuments as you explore. 3. Lunch Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and experience traditional Egyptian cuisine. 4. Luxor Temple Continue to Luxor Temple, one of the city's most impressive ancient monuments. Discover its monumental entrance, statues and towering columns while learning about the temple's role in ancient Thebes. 5. Check-in at Your Hotel After sightseeing, transfer to your hotel and check in. Enjoy some free time to relax, explore the area around the hotel or simply take in the atmosphere of Luxor. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 2
West Bank & Return to Cairo
1. Breakfast at the Hotel Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before beginning your second day of exploration. 2. Valley of the Kings Cross the Nile to Luxor's West Bank and visit the famous Valley of the Kings. Explore selected royal tombs and discover the beautifully decorated chambers, hieroglyphs and scenes depicting ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife. 3. Temple of Hatshepsut Continue to the spectacular Temple of Hatshepsut. Built for Queen Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt's most famous rulers, the temple rises dramatically against the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Learn about her reign and the remarkable achievements associated with her rule. 4. Colossi of Memnon Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues that have stood on Luxor's West Bank for thousands of years. Take photographs and learn about the history and legends surrounding these famous monuments. 5. Lunch Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Luxor. 6. Free Time in Luxor Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time in Luxor before transferring to the airport. Optional activities can be arranged, such as a traditional felucca ride on the Nile or additional sightseeing. 7. Flight Back to Cairo Transfer to Luxor International Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, your Egypt Experiences representative will meet you and transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza. End of your Luxor adventure.
